Yes. Where Winds Meet has cross-play and cross-progression on all four platforms it runs on: Xbox, PS5, PC and mobile. Players on any of them meet in the same open world, co-op and PvP, and one linked account carries your character from one platform to another. The Xbox version arrived in June 2026, so older answers that say the game is not on Xbox are out of date.
Last checked: November 1, 2026, for Version 2.3.

Is Where Winds Meet crossplay?
Yes, and you do not have to switch anything on. NetEase's store text promises full cross-play on all four platforms. Steam also tags the game as cross-platform multiplayer. In practice that means:
- The open world is shared. The people you see in Online Mode can be on any platform.
- Co-op and guilds mix platforms. A PC player can invite a PS5 or phone friend into a session or the same guild.
- PvP is included. The store text makes no exception for it.
Cross-play only matters in Online Mode. If you would rather play the story alone, our solo or online guide explains how Solo Mode works.
Cross-progression: take your character to another platform
Your character belongs to your Where Winds Meet account, not to the console or PC. To play the same character somewhere else, link the new platform's account to the one you already use.
- On the platform you play on now, open Settings > Other > User Center > Link Account. On the official PC launcher, log in on the title screen first, then go to User Center > Link Account.
- Link the account you will use on the new platform: PSN, Steam, Epic or another login. One game account can hold several links at once.
- Start the game on the new platform and log in with that linked account. Your character loads as you left it.
Three rules from the official linking guide catch most people out:
- Link before you create a character on the new platform. If both accounts already have a character, the game will not let you link them.
- Made a second character by mistake? Customer support can delete the character on one account so the link can go through. Write to [email protected].
- You cannot unlink an account yourself. For security, only customer support can remove a link.
Platform by platform
PC
On PC you can play through Steam, the Epic Games Store, NetEase's own launcher or the Microsoft Store. All four play together. The game is Windows only. Full controller support is listed on Steam if you prefer a gamepad.
PS5
The PS5 version launched on the same day as PC, November 14, 2025. There is no PS4 version. PS5 players are in the same world as everyone else and link their PSN account to move a character to another platform.
Xbox
NetEase released the Xbox version on June 7, 2026, during the Xbox Games Showcase. It covers:
- Xbox Series X|S. Series X renders at 1080p and upscales to 4K; Series S renders at 900p and upscales to 2K. Both support HDR.
- Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud, with Xbox Play Anywhere.
- Smart Delivery, so a Series console downloads the right version by itself.
You do not need Game Pass to play. Game Pass members got a bonus bundle at launch, and Xbox players start with every update released before June 2026, including the Hexi and Imperial Palace expansions. Our update timeline lists what each update added.
iPhone, iPad and Android
The mobile version launched outside China on December 12, 2025, a month after PC and PS5. It shares servers and accounts with the other versions: phone players meet PC and console players in the same world and can link the same account to carry a character across.
Steam Deck
Valve's compatibility check rates Where Winds Meet Unsupported on Steam Deck, with the note that SteamOS does not support the game. Players who want to play on the go should use the phone version instead.
