Where Winds Meet: How to Heal, Refill Medicine and Cure Injuries

How to heal in Where Winds Meet: medicine and how it refills, the Evercare Clinic upgrade, healing dishes, healing weapons and curing injuries (2.2).

There are four ways to get HP back in Where Winds Meet: medicine in fights, healing dishes outside fights, Boundary Stones, and healing weapons. Injuries and illnesses are separate: medicine does not cure them, so you need a doctor. We kept only what at least two guides agree on or what the official patch notes say, and we name the sources under each section.

Last checked: October 10, 2026 (Version 2.2). Most of the guides behind this page were written at launch in late 2025. We searched the official patch notes through Version 2.2 for changes to medicine, food and healing, and added the ones we found.

Medicine: your heal in fights

Your Medicine Chest is the heal you use in combat. Put a medicine in the medicine slot of your Quick Use items; the button to use it is shown on screen. The basic medicine is Hemostatic Powder.

  • You start with one charge. Save it for the fights where you need it.
  • Boundary Stones refill it. When you reach a Boundary Stone, your HP comes back and your medicine charges refill.
  • The refill comes from your bag. A Boundary Stone does not make medicine. It fills your charges from the Hemostatic Powder you carry, and when that stock runs out, your charges stop refilling.

Run out of medicine? Craft or buy more

  • Craft it at a Crafting Zone (look for the anvil on the map) or from the Craft menu in your bag.
  • Ingredients: Hemostatic Powder is made from herbs and meat scraps, which you gather and hunt in the wild. Crafting also costs Stamina.
  • Buy it: merchants sell Hemostatic Powder too.
  • Clear out old stock: since the official May 27, 2026 patch, "non-consigned and low-level" Medicine and Recovery Food can be recycled into Trace Jade.

Carry more medicine: the Evercare Clinic

You carry more medicine, and it heals more, by upgrading the Medicine Chest:

  1. Go to the Evercare Clinic in Qinghe, in the Still Shore area south of Heaven's Pier.
  2. Talk to Yao Yaoyao and choose the option to submit Medicinal Tales.
  3. Each rank you buy with Medicinal Tales raises how many charges you carry or how much each charge heals. Some ranks also add a short heal-over-time effect.

Medicinal Tales (some guides call them Tales of Medicine) are rewards from the story and side quests, from outposts you clear and from world bosses. The top ranks take a lot of them, so turn them in whenever you pass the clinic.

Outside fights: healing dishes

  • Your HP refills by itself out of combat as long as you carry healing dishes. The game uses them up for you.
  • Cook them at a cooking pot, for example in a Crafting Zone, from ingredients you gather and hunt, such as herbs and meat. You can also buy dishes from merchants.
  • Find them in your bag: the official May 27, 2026 patch added a "Recovery Food" category for common items.

Buff dishes are different: they don't heal, they raise your stats for a while. Since Version 2.0 (August 14, 2026), Buff Food is split into Vitality Food (Max HP) and Attack Food (Physical Attack), and one of each can be active at the same time. Guides written before that may say that only one food buff can be active. Since May 27, 2026, you can also turn on auto-use, so the game uses your buff food when you enter modes such as Hero's Realm, the Arena or a Guild War.

Heal in fights with a weapon

  • The healing path is Silkbind - Deluge: the Panacea Fan and the Soulshade Umbrella. The fan's healing Perception Skill runs on Dew, which you build up in battle. See our healer build for how the path plays in Version 2.2.
  • Take the fan early: because medicine is scarce at first, two guides suggest pairing the Panacea Fan with your damage weapon. One of them uses its old name, All-Healing Fan.
  • Healing teammates: since May 27, 2026, the option "Prioritize Teammate with Lowest HP" in Settings - Game aims a healing skill at the teammate with the lowest HP when you have no target locked.
  • An Inner Way that heals: two guides name Vital Leech. Fragster says it restores HP whenever you defeat an enemy after breaking its Qi, and Game8 picks it for PvP because it heals more reliably there.

Dungeons and boss fights

  • In the Wandering Paths modes Hero's Realm and Sword Trial, your HP is restored to full at the start of every boss fight (official January 12, 2026 notes).
  • With Smart Combat Assist in those two modes, you take much less damage, you don't lose gear durability when defeated, and you can't be defeated again for 30 seconds after a revive (official May 27, 2026 notes).

Injuries and illness: see a doctor

Injuries such as broken bones, and illnesses, show as a red icon next to the mini-map. They lower your stats, and ordinary medicine does not cure them. You have two ways to treat them:

  • The Evercare Clinic: Yao Yaoyao treats you for a fee.
  • Another player: in Online Mode, ask in chat for a player with the healer profession (some guides call it the Doctor career).

Where this information comes from

We compared these guides and kept only what at least two of them say:

The official changes come from these posts:

We left out details that only one guide gives: charge counts for each Medicine Chest rank, how much HP each dish restores, Stamina costs and key bindings. Check those numbers in the game.

Version history

  • October 10, 2026: rewritten from the guides above and the official patch notes, with sources for each section. Added the Version 2.0 food change and the healing rules in Hero's Realm and Sword Trial. Removed key bindings, HP numbers and tricks that no second source confirms.
  • December 3, 2025: first published.
