Where Winds Meet has over a hundred outfits, and about forty of them are free. You earn free outfits from the main story, exploration, campaigns, professions and achievements, or buy them with free currencies in sect, social and Homestead shops. Paid outfits cost Echo Beads or come from draws and the Battle Pass. Every outfit is cosmetic only.

Last checked: November 1, 2026, for Version 2.3.

Free outfits you can no longer get

Some free outfits came from one-off events or from signing up before launch: Swaying Lotus (pre-registration), Mountain Pine (beta test), Back to November (Half-Year Gratitude Plan), Flowing Clouds (Rhythm of Spring), Gentle Splendor (Wanjia Yiyuan) and Scarlet Sparrow (Verse of Winter). New events bring their own outfits, as the Fading Glory event did in October, so check the event panel after each update.

Paid outfits come three ways:

  • The Shop, for Echo Beads. Prices fall into a few steps: 60 for small sets and sale items, then 300, 680, 1,280 and 2,580 Echo Beads for the fullest sets. Some sets go on sale for a limited time, as Path of Youth did in October.
  • Draw banners. The permanent Solemn Echo banner holds outfits such as Elegy of Petals, Return of Spring, Crimson Curtain and Jianghu Wanderer. Limited Draw Sets, such as Veil of Lotus, run for weeks at a time.
  • The Battle Pass. The pass carries its own outfit for a limited time: Scarlet Whispers stays until November 14.

Mounts are sold the same way; our mounts guide lists their Echo Bead prices.

The same update added the Blazing Sands hairstyle and a Qingzhou-only mount, Eastwind Soarer. Our Version 2.3 patch notes cover the rest of the update.

Are outfits pay-to-win?

No. The official store page says gameplay content is entirely free and that the game earns only from cosmetics. Outfits change your look and nothing else, so a free outfit is as good in a fight as a 2,580-bead one. If you are deciding whether the game is worth your time, our worth-it guide covers what the shop sells.
