To unlock Skill Theft, reach level 8 and finish the exploration quest Skill Theft: Unearned Lesson from Qiu Yuehai, near the Peace Bell Tower on Moonveil Mountain in southwest Qinghe. After that you can steal martial arts by watching their masters unseen. Eleven weapons can be learned this way, five of them in Qinghe sanctums that open with a Dragon Key.

How to unlock Skill Theft

  1. Reach level 8.
  2. Find Qiu Yuehai near the Peace Bell Tower on Moonveil Mountain, southwest Qinghe, and start Skill Theft: Unearned Lesson.
  3. Finish the lesson. It takes a few minutes. You learn Skill Theft and the Mystic Art Veil of Stillness, and you get a Dragon Key.

How a Skill Theft works

  • Get close without being seen. Masters train in sanctums, camps and halls with guards around them.
  • Step into the marked circle near the master and use Skill Theft while the art is being performed. Once it completes, the martial art is yours.
  • Being spotted ends the attempt. In a sanctum you go back to the entrance or the last checkpoint, and normal attacks won't clear the guards.
  • Sanctums with a hidden entrance need a Dragon Key at their Loong Dragon Pillar, and the key is used up.

Skill Theft or join the sect?

  • Skill Theft gets you the weapon without sect rules or weekly duties, and you can learn weapons from several sects.
  • Joining a sect also teaches its weapon and adds the sect shop, titles and ranks. How to join each one is in our sects guide.
  • Your first Oddity is a third way for four weapons: hand it to Qi Sheng and pick the Panacea Fan, Thundercry Blade, Infernal Twinblades or Vernal Umbrella.
