This page covers the PvP side of the Bamboocut - Wind path: the Infernal Twinblades with the Mortal Rope Dart. For the full build (Inner Ways, stats, PvE gear and how the two weapons work together), see our Dual Blades build. We have not tested it in the game ourselves; each source is named with its date, and the official changes come from the patch notes.

Last checked: October 11, 2026 (Version 2.2). The last official changes to this path's PvP came with Version 2.0 on July 23, 2026.

Where it ranks in PvP

OnKamii's 1v1 tier list for Version 2.2 on the global server puts this pair in T0 and calls it the second-strongest pair. His reasons: you lose less Qi when your attacks are deflected during Rodent Rampage, the rope dart's passive damage is high, and the berserk mode can be kept running. Game8's PvP list (made for Version 2.1) rates Bamboocut - Wind A.

In PvE the path rates lower (B for both NPC Waifu and Game8); the Dual Blades build explains why. Every path side by side: PvP Tier List. Arena modes and our other PvP builds: PvP in Where Winds Meet.

The Arena changes that shape it (Version 2.0)

The Version 2.0 patch notes changed this pair in the Arena on July 23, 2026:

  • Stored light attacks: after a dodge, the Infernal Twinblades keep their light attack count for only 3 seconds instead of indefinitely, and switching weapons clears it at once. A new status icon shows the stored count.
  • Addled Mind can be deflected at most 3 times in a row instead of 6.
  • Rodent Rampage: with both weapons equipped, each attack an opponent deflects now costs you 30% less Qi damage while the buff is up.
  • Bladebound Thread: the second-stage kicks are faster and pull better, the first kick registers slightly later, the last kick now knocks player targets back, and you can cancel the skill sooner.
  • Rodent's Resilience gives Tenacity 0.5 seconds after you start charging, not right away.

The same patch made buffs from the Infernal Twinblades' Perfect Dodges last longer (a 40% duration bonus instead of 20%). It also changed two Mystic Skills that matter here: Talon Strike now breaks the defense of an opponent who defends or deflects while protected by Tenacity and staggers them, and Guardian Palm pulls harder and reaches further with its first two strikes when cast on the ground.

How to play it in PvP

These tips are Game8's, updated for Version 2.0; each matches one of the official changes above.

  • Charge Rodent's Resilience from a distance, since it no longer gives Tenacity the moment you start charging.
  • Turn on Rodent Rampage before you commit with the Twinblades, so deflected attacks cost you less Qi.
  • Open with Bladebound Thread to close in or pull. Its last kick knocks the opponent away, so be ready to follow up or reset.
  • Don't feed deflects with Addled Mind. It can only be deflected three times in a row now, but a good opponent will still punish predictable use.
  • Keep the pressure going after a dodge: the stored light attack count lasts three seconds, and switching weapons clears it.
  • Use the Mystic Arts for their jobs: Talon Strike against defenders, Guardian Palm to pull runners back, Serene Breeze to escape a combo, Ghostly Steps to disengage when your tools are on cooldown.
  • Fight near walls when you can: less escape room makes your pulls and gap closers easier to land.

PvP gear, Inner Ways and attunements (Game8)

  • Sets: Swallowcall on weapons and accessories, the simpler choice for PvP, and Calmwaters on armor, whose Perfect Dodge recovery restores HP and Endurance.
  • Inner Ways: the same core as in PvE. Game8 notes that Vital Leech, which heals you on executions and hits against Exhausted targets, is especially useful in PvP. The full Inner Way comparison is on the Dual Blades build.
  • Arena attunements by slot:
Gear slotGame8's Arena attunement
Both weaponsRecovery on executions, or a Defense Break effect that deals extra Qi damage and gives you Qi back
DiscAddled Mind effect that strengthens the next Execution on a low-Qi target; the Rodent Rampage healing reduction for team PvP

HelmetProtection or Tenacity after a control-removing skill
