Where Winds Meet Silkbind - Jade PvP Build

Silkbind - Jade PvP in Where Winds Meet: where the fan and umbrella rank in 1v1, how to play the patient ranged game, Mystic Arts, gear and changes.

Silkbind - Jade is one of the strongest PvP paths in Version 2.2. OnKamii's 1v1 tier list puts the Vernal Umbrella with the Inkwell Fan in T0, and Game8 rates it S for PvP. It wins by patience: you keep the opponent at range with projectiles, punish their mistakes, and avoid trading blows up close.

This page covers the PvP side of the path. We have not tested it ourselves; each source is named with its date, and the official changes come from the patch notes.

Last checked: October 11, 2026 (Version 2.2).

Where it ranks

  • OnKamii (1v1, Version 2.2, global server): T0 and the fourth-strongest pair. He notes that the path has never been nerfed since launch and that it mainly fears the Heavenwill Gauntlets.
  • Game8 (PvP, Version 2.1): S.
  • NPC Waifu (PvE): A. He says it has been popular since launch because it fights from range and stays reliable when bosses fly or move, and adds that the fan's teleport and the umbrella's ranged immobilize make it strong in PvP too.

How to play it in PvP

These tips are Game8's. Its build page was last reworked for Version 1.7 (June 2026), before the Version 2.0 changes below, so check how they play now.

  • Be patient. Control space with the umbrella and its projectiles, and let the opponent overcommit before you spend your damage.
  • Mix two plans. One is slow and ranged: probe with the fan until a stun lands, then punish with Spring Away (the charged light attack). The other is hit-and-run: burst with Peak's Springless Silence and keep poking with the umbrella while your skills recharge.
  • Bait their escapes first. Cloud Steps can interrupt Spring Away, so draw that skill out of the opponent before you commit. After a stun, expect them to answer with Serene Breeze.
  • Use Unfading Flower to zone. Its pressure gives you time to reposition, refresh buffs or bait dodges.
  • Don't over-trust Jadewind Shield. Some attacks get around it; keep moving.
  • Constant pressure is the hard matchup. Against an opponent who never lets you breathe, lean on deflects, defensive Mystic Arts and clean exits.
  • Cancel animations to shorten long casts, and use the breather after an execution to set your buffs up again.
  • Against another umbrella player, deflect their Spring Away shots, or knock them out of the air with Cloud Steps.

Mystic Arts, gear and attunements (Game8)

  • Mystic Arts: Cloud Steps is a must for closing or opening distance, Serene Breeze breaks combos, and Wolflike Frenzy can surprise opponents. Game8 calls them defensive tools first.
  • Sets: Mistwillow on the weapons as the general pick, Flawless Defense on armor. Game8 adds that PvP players can value survivability or anti-control rolls more highly.
  • Arena attunements: start with the disc effect for Peak's Springless Silence, then the pendant effect for the Vernal Umbrella's charged light attack; use the helmet, chestpiece, greaves and bracer for survival and recovery.
Gear slotGame8's Arena attunement
WeaponVitality and Mystic Skill damage after an execution
DiscA target staggered or controlled by Peak's Springless Silence takes more damage, and you gain Tenacity
PendantThe umbrella's charged light attack adds Qi damage and builds up to a short immobilize
HelmetMore HP and Qi damage after a control-removing skill
ChestpieceLess damage taken while staggered
GreavesEndurance back after a dodge, and free dodges for a moment
BracerQi back after a successful deflect

Official changes since July 2026

  • Version 2.0, July 23, 2026 (patch notes):
    • the Vernal Umbrella's talent now applies to all its projectile skills; all its damage ignores 5 Physical Resistance, rising to 15 against immobilized or airborne targets;
    • Unfading Flower and Blossom Barrage were adjusted;
    • in the Arena, the Inkwell Fan's Glow & Flow charge is split into two stages: a quicker first stage with a shorter pull, and a second stage with the old range and timing;
    • also in the Arena, the Vernal Umbrella no longer lands Spring Sorrow late when the attacker has high latency.
  • Version 2.1, August 20, 2026 (patch notes): two Vernal Umbrella attunement effects on gear of Tier 96 and higher were merged into one, Frequent Projectile DMG Boost.
  • The Version 2.2 patch notes do not mention this path.
